Oh baby (shower)!

I can still remember when we would all play as kids, in our town house complex, with the giant gate protecting us from the busy street of cars rushing by. We could ride our bikes and play hide and seek and not worry about a thing, except who was “it”.

Fast forward to now– we’re adults, married, and have left childhood behind. Yeah right! We may be adults and married now, but for my friend Rica and I (and tons of my other friends of course), we couldn’t leave childhood behind even if we wanted to. And why would we ever want to?! My childhood lives on in my kids– in their smiles and cries and happy days and sad days. And my wonderful friend Rica is soon to have her own little one, as she ventures into the role of “Mama” :)

This weekend I had the pleasure of being at Rica’s baby shower, hosted by her sister (another good friend of mine) Sheila, and her cousin Rina. Fun times, and great decor, and yummy bavarian chocolate cake equaled a great party for all who attended!

These are the cute little party favors made by Sheila and Rina (yeah, very talented women!):

And here’s the uber yummy cake… seriously, if you’ve never had bavarian chocolate cake before, you need to try it asap!

.
And here’s a few other little detail tidbits:

.
I forgot to mention, the food was simply fabulous! The party was held at a great Thai restaurant and I definitely stuffed my face :P

.
After lunch, the games began, led by Sheila and Rina:

The momma-to-be is getting ready to cut the yummy cake:

Can’t you just taste the goodness!

One fo the prizes they gave out to the winners of the games. Guess who won this one?! :)

LOL…as you described the house that you lived in as a child.. with those big iron gates… I totally remembered how we met and became friends. You lived across the street from Liggett Elem where I occasionally came to visit you after school. BTW, the baby shower looked super fun and the details are gorgeous…I told Phong that we are flying to see you when I get my baby bump ;) ~Fan of yours
