Woo hoo, I’m not out numbered anymore! Well, sort of anyway.
Meet the newest member of the Conover household: Zoey Alleyne Deschanel, or just Zoey for short!

.
We rescued her last month, as she was abandoned at a park not too far from our house. The poor thing was shaking and clearly scared when my husband and our sons came across her there.
We actually went through about a half dozen names, the first one that I blurted out being “Olive Oil” because of her long skinny legs. Chris really liked that but I immediately then thought of how ridiculous I’d feel having to call out for her in the back yard, saying “Olive Oil, come heeeeere!!”
So how did we get such an unusual and long name you ask? Well, “Zoe Alleyne” is a character from one of my husband’s favorite shows of all time, Firefly, starring the awesome Nathan Fillion. Zoe wasn’t his character though, that would’ve been weird. Zoe Alleyne Washburn was pretty much the captain (Nathan Fillion’s) second in command. The third part of her name derived from one of my favorite actresses, Zooey Deschanel. That doesn’t really need that much of an explanation so I’ll just say, go see her latest movie, “Yes Man!” and grab her CD, “Volume One” by her group, She & Him if you haven’t already done so!
Oh yes, one last thing… Zoey is a ChiPin, or MinChi… basically half Chihuahua, half Miniature Pincher, and all kinds of super sweet dog!
