My mother-in-law rushed out to Florida during the week of her birthday, not to celebrate, but to get away from it. She dashed off with my father-in-law instead to celebrate their 30 year wedding anniversary, which happened to fall only a couple of weeks prior to February. She also happens to be a AAA Travel Agent so they most certainly were “hooked-up” to the extreme at the hotels they stayed in during their trip.
Suffice it to say, I’m pretty sure they had a great time out near the Everglades, but meanwhile, her family back home was busy getting our heads together and finalizing plans to get her Surprise party going. That’s right, while she didn’t want to celebrate her turning the big 5-0, we really couldn’t at least put on a party to celebrate just how FABULOUS she is, looks, and lives.
Here are a few fun highlights of the night… oh by the way, she totally was surprised :)
Waiting for everyone to arrive…

The favors for the guests (Ring Pops and other various candies were inside)

And the cake was FAB.U.LOUS. Made by my new friend and awesome cake lady Corina of Cailey’s Cakes. I had very very specific details in how I wanted every part of the cake to look and she brought my ideas to yummy life! :)

The tiara we tried to have her wear lol

Her “shot glass” necklace… no she didn’t use it either, haha

The birthday girl, looking nothing but fabulous :)

And here’s the complete slideshow of the night!
