[almost] Springtime

The sun shone brightly into my eyes as I opened my front door, and I stopped abruptly over the threshold while I squinted and shaded my face. With the biggest grin, it only took me a moment to take off my shoes, and instead replace them with my favorite flip flops and oh it felt so good! As much as I can be a dressy woman when the event calls for it (you know, fancy shoes, pretty outfit), I love more when I can be as casual and comfortable as possible. Give me my sneakers and jeans any day, and even better, the step-ins and sandals (or flip flops)!

And as I walked down my front porch, I felt like a bear out of hibernation. What’s confusing is that my favorite season is winter, but only because with it comes Christmastime, and for that I’m willing to deal with big jackets and boots. But all the same, when the sun rises out of the clouds and the cold air dissipates into a warm breeze, all that comes to my mind is the sweet sweet opportunity of a day at the beach, the smell of the crisp ocean, and I gladly welcome the smiling face of Spring, as I walk with a spring in each step.

Here’s another thing that’s made me super happy today… the arrival of a most awesome addition to the Lorelei Photography arsenal of tools that allow me to capture the brilliance of life and the beauty of you!

(and while I know that it’s the technique and skill that bring out the great photos much more than the best equipment out there, it’s still pretty fabulous, wouldn’t you agree?!)
