Memorial Day {So thankful}

I woke up bright and early this morning to my very own real life hero sleeping so handsomely next to me, and I know it goes without saying that I felt so blessed. My sweet husband is a retired Marine who fought alongside his fellow heroes in Operation Iraqi Freedom, and who joins my brother, our many friends, and the many other heroes past and present of the United States Military. I thank God every day for returning Chris to me safely, although with a lifelong leg injury, but alive and safe nonetheless.

Today, I hope and pray that our nation remembers what this day truly stands for. Not for weekend store bargain sales and backyard BBQs, but to HONOR and REMEMBER the men and women who fought for our freedom, at a price which they had to pay.
