I feel so blessed when I am given the privilege to capture the steps of a new life for two people in love. From their engagement, to their wedding day, Colleen and Eddie has allowed me to be a part of some of their most special moments and it’s truly such a great honor. Last month they invited me into their home to meet and photograph their greatest treasure yet: their newborn son. Thank you so much Colleen and Eddie for a wonderful evening.

I’ve been privileged to have taken many portrait or engagement sessions at one of my favorite places in the world, and it never gets old, or never feels repetitive. Just being at Disneyland makes me smile and being there with Krissy and her sweet son Brendan was icing on the cake. Thanks for the fun session you guys!

Happy 1st Birthday, Kali | Portrait Session

I can still remember Nancy and Jeremy’s summer wedding three years ago, where I was had the honor of documenting their big day (and amazing after party!), and at the same time made some pretty sweet friends as a bonus.

So not only did I get the privilege of also photographing Nancy’s mom, Maria’s wedding last year, today I am even more excited to show you Nancy and Jeremy’s daughter Kali’s one year old photos! If you can’t tell, I really ADORE this family!

Happy 1st Birthday, Kali! You’re a ray of sunshine for everyone that’s lucky enough to get to hang out with you, even if just for an afternoon :)

Which was totally no problem because I was able to get such super cute photos of him with his favorite toy :P

We still got some fun photos though, sans the glitter orb :)

{Contest} Giving thanks

For Thanksgiving 2010, I’m especially thankful for my own real life super hero.. my Mom. For everything she does for everyone, she truly is a Superwoman!

And in that regard, I believe Moms should be celebrated all the time (not just on Mother’s Day). And since I haven’t done contests in a while, I’m happy to hold one now, in my Mom’s honor!

The winning prize is…. a FREE portrait session for a Mom ($250 value). The winner can choose from these three types of sessions: 1) a portrait session of herself and her children, 2) a glamour session of just herself (hey, she deserves it!), or 3) for moms-to-be, a newborn session of her and her sweet new baby.

To enter:
Submit a photo of yourself or someone you think really deserves this free session via email to lorelei@loreleiphotos.com by 11pm on Tuesday, November 30th. Due to the my busy schedule the next couple of days and because of the holidays, I have had to extend the entry times so that I can also extend the voting times. Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause, and thanks to everyone who has already submitted their entries!!

I will then gather all entries received and on December 2nd the voting begins!

Notable points:
*Portrait session is on-location and must be within the Inland Empire or LA/San Fernando Valley areas. It also must take place by April 1, 2011.

She arrived with a nervous laugh and tried to mask it with casual talks of getting lost on the way. As soon as I noticed her apprehension, I started chatting about everyday things, how were her kids, who she left her littlest one with– and the nervousness seemed to slowly fade as we talked in the way two friends talk over afternoon coffee and cake. Rebecca wanted to get out of her shell and give her husband what will no doubt be one of the best early Valentine’s Day presents he has received, and she did it with such grace, class, and style.

Rebecca, thanks so much for being such a wonderful person to spend a morning with, talking, laughing, and “shooting” the breeze :)

Portrait Session: Abigail {part one}

So I probably shouldn’t say that I’ve known Abigail since she was a baby… and that I babysat her and even helped with diaper duty. Because not only might that embarrass her, but it might also lead to some people thinking that I myself am an old fogie. (I’m so not!)

So I won’t say that…. er, again.

Abs is one of my favorite cousins, my adopted little sister, my once in a while partner in crime. She’s got something big in the works, and I mean BIG, so get your ears ready.

Anyway, we decided to turn a nice Saturday afternoon into an nice Saturday afternoon that was perfect to snap some photos so that she could update her portfolio. Because, she’s an extremely gorgeous model, as if the sneak peek below didn’t give that one away.

Isaura and her hubby Adam wanted to get some updated photos of their family, so we met at a neighborhood park for a fun Mini Session! They also included Adam’s mom and their sweet little daughter, who of course ended up being the star of the afternoon :)

The weather has turned from cold, to extremely hot, to breezy cold all within the last week. Southern California certainly doesn’t allow you to get used to it’s climate, that’s for sure!

I had another fun mini session, this time with Ron, Heather, and their incredibly adorable baby boy, during one of the extremely hot days… well, not extremely hot, just really really warm. The little guy proved to be an awesome trooper though, giving me great smiles and loving the camera the whole time, despite the heat!
