My best bud of nineteen years married the man of her dreams this past Saturday and I was able to fly to California to be a part of it!

June and Orn put on a wonderful celebration for their family and friends and it was definitely the party of the year so far. I had the high privilege of being June’s Matron of Honor so I was very thrilled that the amazing Jeremy Chou of Jeremy Chou Photography and his team was there to document this important day. The Jasmine Star Workshop – Irvine, Ca

I’m a firm believer that no one should ever stop learning, and that there is no such thing as a “perfected craft”. This definitely applies to wedding photography because it in and of itself is an ever changing industry. That being said, I was given the amazing honor and privilege of being one of twenty (ever learning) photographers who attended Jasmine Star’s Photography Workshop this past week. She is unquestionably one of the titans of this industry and an incredible wealth of knowledge in marketing and branding. She not only is a great person to learn from, but her workshop also gave me twenty additional new friends (twenty-two counting J* and JD)! Thanks Jasmine and JD for a such a wonderful experience I’ll surely never forget!

I love these note cards that were given to everyone, and the sweet handwritten note that Jasmine took the time to personalize and write for each attendee :)

We all ventured out and snapped some shots of our very handsome and gorgeous models (and real life sweethearts!), Dylan and Chrisoula. These two almost melted my lens off…

I love Dylan’s great attitude and humor :)

Chrisoula is such a knock-out!

I so adore these next four series of shots! They met in Salsa dancing class and can definitely move it and groove it…

As in, I’d like to add more to my days so I can get everything I’d like accomplished, actually DONE. Suffice it to say, I haven’t posted for a while because I just haven’t had time to blog. But I have soooo many things to share with you friends and even many more photos to display… a little bit of a World of Color, some Alaskan glacier mountaintops, a fantastic Houseboat parked in a magically beautiful Arizona cove, and so much more.

Today I am barely stopping for this quick five minutes to post this hello, because I am again off to another adventure, this time a Surprise party ;) ;) ;)

And because posts are so much better with photos, here’s a quick preview of last night’s amazing wedding:

Katie & Wayne | Girdwood, Alaska Wedding

I’ve known Katie for probably around seven years now, but only met her in person just two weeks ago. The semi-quick story behind that is we both are members of Solo-Ops, a military wives and girlfriends support forum that has been around for almost ten strong years. I joined around 2003, when my husband Chris and his unit were sent to Iraq for the war. While hardly as active on the forum as I used to be back then, I still remember the amazing support and camaraderie we all formed in the sisterhood of being significant others of servicemen, many of whom were on tour or deployed far away from us. Incidentally, the forums are just as wonderful, and just as supportive, and I highly suggest everyone go check it out.

Anyhow, when Katie sent me an IM sometime in the Fall last year about wanting me to shoot her wedding, I was incredibly stoked! I was humbled not only at the fact that I could meet another of my long time SO buds in person (I’ve met up with several other awesome friends already), but that I would get to travel to Alaska to meet her. And not only was she just as incredibly awesome in person, but so was Wayne, and all of their family and friends. Everyone was so sweet and accommodating, and Chris and I were just so blessed to be a part of it all.

So for those who don’t know where Girdwood is, it’s about a half hour drive from Anchorage. A well known landmark and main attraction in Girdwood is the gorgeous Alyeska Resort– a popular ski resort that many out of state and Alaskans alike enjoy venturing to all year round.

And now enough chatter and on to the photos… let’s start by showing the girls hanging out at the Harmony House B&B:

I love her Romantic Soles heels.. she had them redesigned with bows on the side and they’re so gorgeous:

I love their exit from the reception… by the way, in this photo it’s almost 11pm. Seriously, 11 at night.

Mike & Maria | Norco Wedding

It was a sunny and warm Saturday during Memorial Weekend when Mike and Maria, in front of over 350 of their family and friends, said “I DO”. The wedding theme was a first for me, and most certainly fun for me as well! They were married at their friends’ massive country styled home in Norco, complete with roosters, horses, a handsome barn, and a stage set up for the live country band. In short, they both wanted their guests to feel so at home and relaxed, and just to celebrate with them on their amazing day, and I believe they pulled it off perfectly.

I’ll begin with this post first, and call it “PART ONE”, because the line dancing and shots of the live band deserve their own post :)

From cool breeze to super hot

So we decided to utilize our Sunday to go hiking at Lytle Creek and it was insanely hot. Well, for Southern California I guess 92 degrees isn’t that hot, but for having pretty cool weather the last few weeks, it’s a horrible transition. Nevertheless, a-hiking we went and only twenty minutes in Logan started complaining about his leg and his tummy and anything else he could think of so he and I turned right around and headed back to our car while James and Chris kept going on the hike. During dinner was when Logan started burning up really bad that Chris and I realized he had a fever and his complaining earlier was very warranted.

Anyway, I’ve got fun photos coming up of the hike, but tonight I’d like to share with you an ever funner, errr, more fun photo from Maria & Mike’s Norco, CA wedding last night (now THAT was a fun wedding to shoot!):

Arin & Steven | Redlands Wedding

Arin and Steven were married last month at a magical place. No this is not a reference to Hogwarts Castle (although as a big Harry Potter fan, this wouldn’t be surprising for many people that know me). The Asistencia, which is a reproduction of the original Estancia or ranch outposts of the Missions of San Gabriel is not only a California Historical Landmark, it’s also the place where Arin’s parents said their “I Do’s”. This for me, makes this place nothing less than magical. It’s a recognition of timeless love, just as her parents have been celebrating all these years since their own wedding.

I love it when wedding days turn out pretty much perfect– great weather, awesome location, and a wonderful couple!

Also want to extend my thanks to Chris and Heather of For Memories’ Sake Photography for helping me out once again!

JULIE ANN & JEROME | RANCHO CUCAMONGA WEDDING

The moment he saw Julie Ann walking down the aisle, Jerome’s face expressed everything love is. From his big smile to the hint of happy tears in his eyes, you could see just how radiant he felt inside, as Julie Ann approached him while looking like a beautiful angel.

Their love for one another wasn’t only apparent to me on their gorgeous wedding day– I’ve been blessed to witness it every time I’m around them since I first met them last year. Though both of them may give off the impression that they are quiet and reserved, their sincere adoration and respect for each other speaks melodious volumes, and I feel so blessed they chose me to document such an important event in their life.

We started the day off at the Four Points Sheraton in Rancho Cucamonga, to catch them as they prepared and got ready for the day:

Julie Ann’s dress was so elegant and the rest of the small details and accessories fit her gentle grace perfectly:

Make-up has nothing on this natural beauty!

I absolutely loved the deep red couches in the downstairs lobby of the hotel:

The ceremony and mass was held at the beautiful Sacred Heart Church, also in Rancho Cucamonga:

After the ceremony, they were greeted outside by a fun congratulatory walk through!

The celebration continued with the reception at The Castaway Restaurant atop the hills in San Bernardino:

The toasts by the best man and matron of honor were so touching and heartfelt!

Jerome and Julie Ann, thank you again and again! Not only am I blessed with two great new friends, but also for the honor of being a part of your day!

I’ve always loved Google… they make emailing, chatting, sharing ideas, files, and links SO much easier than anything out there I’ve tried. And trust me, I’ve been around a loooong time in my (almost) 29 years on this Earth so I’ve seen it all! ;)

I think what I love most about Google is the fact that behind all the creative and technical geniuses that make up the resources we get to use and play with and connect to each other with, is that most, if not all of these resources, are 100% FREE. Which to me, makes them one of the most generous companies on the planet.

And they certainly don’t forget the many many brides and grooms out there who are in the midst of planning their wedding day. Whether you’re in the very early stages or the big day is just around the corner, these Google Docs are available for your use, free!!, to help out with your planning and even gather all those awesome photos you’ll be left with when all is said and done!
